i plan on painting the walls white or should i use mylar

white. flat white. oil-based kilz primer is the cat's ass.

i'm buying everything off of insidesun.com.

Cool, spring for the house brand, not the 'econo'.

1. what type of light should i use after they sprout

Flourescents, as close as you can get them to the plants. If you want to spend some cash, a 2-foot T5 new wave fixture is AMAZING.

and for veg?

Cool white flouros, lots of them. Or a MH, but I use both and honestly I like flouros better.

2. should i use 250 watt mh or 400 watt for my space?

more watts is always better.....

3. when the veg is over and i want to flower should i use a 250 hps or 400 hps

The 400. Definitely!

4. do i need to buy another light or just get an hps bulb

You have to buy a conversion bulb. Don't put a MH bulb in a HPS fixture, and vis versa.

5. what size pot do i need to plant them in after germination?

party cups with holes punched in them are popular, but I like nursery 6packs that you buy ornamental garden flowers in.

6. how many should i grow for this area? 3ft by 3ft by 9ft

I'd do either 4 or 9 plants...depends how big you want them, but plan on finishing 9 smaller plants because the 400w doesn't penetrate to lower leaves of a tall plant. So start like 20... some will be runty and some will be male.

7. do i need different types of soil for getting it to sprout and the veg process?

no nutes for seedlings. Good rich soil for everything else. But you can use the same kind, just don't feed the seedlings.

8. what should the light cycle be in this stage

24 hours a day of light is fine.

9. should i let if veg for 4 weeks or 6 weeks?

I veg for 8 weeks.
