well you could do that and add a fan into that upper part. that would work, or u could have the fliter attached to the ceiling inside the room vented directly up, you could buy some straps and screw it in. but the way your thinkin will def work with a fan suckin air up. IMO i would have the filter in the room this way u take out space that is just going to hold heat.

I thought it would be nice to seal the upper part and keep fan/ducting in there but I'm not sure on the ducting and do 'Inline' carbon filters actually exist? Either two passive inlets would have ability to close off so in cold weather air could come from just the house and not outside. New to this, any help appreciated. TB P.S NOT to scale!
