Also, just because the bud itself may not directly get light doesn't mean the fan leaves are hurting anything. The fan leaves themselves absorb light energy, then the plant decides what to do with it, and sometimes that means putting that energy into the buds...even though the buds may not directly be getting hit with the light. Plus, as time goes on, those fan leaves are storage bunkers of nutrients which the plant will cannibalize as needed as flowering progresses.

That said, I'll usually remove a few leaves if they're really pissing me off with their placement, but I try to keep that to a minimum and let the plant do what the plant knows best how to do: grow and produce buds.
