Safe, cheap method of lowering pH...
Well the soil for my girls has become too alkaline...weeks ago it was too acidic, so I flushed them and now it looks as if I went too far?
Anyway, should I just put them back on their liquid diet of nutes (Fox Farm Big Bloom) and allow it to gradually go south, or is there a quick household ingredient I can throw at this to knock a point or so off my pH meter? I've heard people mention vinegar and lemon juice in the past, but I think I'd prefer to hear it straight from the multitude of green thumbs who frequent this forum.
I'd prefer not to have to buy anything if possible, reached and exceeded my budget some time ago...
Thanks in advance to all...BlueDevil Reviewed by BlueDevil on . Safe, cheap method of lowering pH... pH up and pH down are cheap and easy to use. It's the proper way to adjust pH of your nutrients.

You can also use Cider Vinegar to lower ph, and baking soda to raise the ph.
But PH-Up and PH-Down are generally easier to use with better accuracy, and theyre not much more expensive really.
Considering that it doesn't take much of it, so 1 bottle of each will last quite a while.
You can get them at most pet stores for aquariums.
I think even some walmarts will carry it as well.
