1000 Watt HPS Light

I know it comes with its own generator but you still have to hook it up to a jack? Hopefully it won't affect my hydro bill too much.. Anybody know anything about this light..? why or why not should I buy it?

Maybe I'm missing something...
Maybe it's that it's early in the morning and I'm still slow...

But...
1st-- by 'own generator', I'm almost positive it's the ballast.
2nd-- 'have to hook it up to a jack?'... erm... do you mean, the wall? Or the bulb's socket? wha'?
3rd-- 'hydro bill'... *this* I don't get. Hydro bill? Hydro bill???
I mean... one more time... HYDRO bill??? What the heck is your hydro bill? Your water bill? Your monthly electricity bill? Now is a good time for that nice expression::: WTF?

4th-- I don't think you should buy it. You should buy a new one, as, because of your lack of knowledge, you might get (a) screwed, (b) stuff that doesn't work, (c) old stuff with a short life-span (you *do* know that bulbs need replacing, do you?), and finally (d) YOUR FRIEND is selling you that. So your grow is no longer secret.

Hydro is a term used for most of the utility companies in Canada, for example, "HydroQuebec" is the electric utility company in Quebec.

So, Hydro, means "electric company" to us.

Batteries are super inefficient... you lose juice while charging it...you lose juice sending DC battery current through the inverter to power your AC setup... Just buy a new standard 120v wall current 1000HPS from inside sun or somewhere and suck it up. Keep it simple stoner KISS!!!!

Yeah.. hydro electricity.. anyway I am getting a new light bulb with it and also here is a link that shows exactly what i'm getting..

anyways it says it comes with the following:

High Pressure Sodium 1000 W light kit comes complete with enclosed ballast in ballast box, White Batwing reflector or 4 foot parabolic, and 1000 W HPS bulb. This kit is complete and ready to plug in.
This light kit emits 140,000 Lumens and is run off 120 V.

and about me keeping it a secret from him.. he is growing too haha so.. yeah they're all trust I blaze there all the time.. anyways what do you guys think now? I'm gonna need to do some reading on growing... any specific sites you guys recommend for indoor growing? should I buy seeds online? I'm kinda paranoid..

I would pay the extra for the new unit just incase there is a problem with the rig. Like it was said you would be paying for the privacy factor as well.
Don't ship it to your grow address either.
Good luck it sounds like you need to spend a lot of time learning if you are going to be successful.

see that a little bit of looking ang you got a 1kw set-up for about $260 just like i said. not bad i was only 2 dollars and change off if you look at my previous post!
