I'm still not sure how anyone can be positive it no longer exists... Can't we just leave it at no one being sure.

i tried that the last time this popped up, no one seemed to want to listen to me, those that thinks it still exists were still saying it exists, and those who don't think it does, were still saying it didn't...

    Purple Haze!

All I know is that I've seen a few pictures of Purple Haze back in the 70's, from a High Times magazine I believe. It may have been around once, but the original phenotypes of the strain are no longer around. The mix of strains and the improvement, or evolution of cannabis, has changed so much that strains these days are just built up from other strains. Nothing is pure sativa or pure indica anymore, it's always a mix. I mean, there are pure strains out there, but they are not a common bag you buy.

All the reports of PH back then said it wasn't even potent, like most purple strains, they are not the most potent out there. Cool name, but please, lets just give it a rest. I don't know for sure, I'm just going on old pictures I've seen and things I've read, but I know for a fact the original strain is no longer around.

    There, I said it.

    Purple Haze!

alright, over the summer one of my boys was making weekly trips up to new york city and returning with some of the sickest buds i have ever smoked. he always got from the same block in NYC and he sold the weed in little glass viles with purple lids. i dont want to start an argument with all the people here that say "purple haze is extinct!!!!" but haze strains have a very particular smell and i can always tell when i'm smoking haze, well this haze was purple. if it was not purple haze what should i have called the purple colored haze that i was smoking???

The PH name never came from a Haze strain at all. It was named after the Hendrix song, no haze in it at all.
