mold or trichomes?

We have 3 jars with about a half ounce of bud inside curing. It's been 3 weeks now. Everyday my husband opens the jars to air em out. Well this morning he says there is mold on one of them ( he put in a piece of celery in each jar the day before because they were very dry) He sets the moldy ones out on a paper towel for me to examine when I get up. Well by the time I got up (two hours later) the buds were dried up and I don't see any mold. He is positive he saw mold. Does anyone know what dried mold on a bud looks like under a microscope? Under my microscope, I see alot of what looks like trichomes to me but not sure if what I'm seeing is mold.

A picture would be helpful but usually mold looks like a fuzzy white patch on the bud. Can be small or big, but if you couldnt see it then it probably wasnt mold. The bud is still smokable but wont taste as great. How long did you let the bud dry for?

When it dries up, what happens to the mold? It doesn't stay "fuzzy" anymore right? So what's it supposed to look like? Compared to the other buds that don't have any mold, I can't tell the difference. My husband is 100% sure there was mold on it this morning though (he wasn't high either) He doesn't want me to throw it out but bake him some of my special brownies with it. Not sure if that's a good idea though.
