    quick q about temps.

    :stoned: my buddy has
    4 waterfarms under 1000w. hps inside a cooltube .
light is on 20 / off 4 . temps under light is 80deg. at canopy height .ambient room temp is 73 deg. = light on / 58 deg = light off . this is w/ heater in room w/a stat on it set very consevativly lots more heat if needed.
once flipped from 20/4 to 12/12 do you think he'll have any probs?
    w/ nice cool temps they're so pretty purple n all . they're fem. d/p blueberry .
should he be watching temps in bottoms of farms w/ a fishtank thermometer ?
    peace all

Water temps should never get beyond 72 F and never below 60 F. A large water temp fluctuation is not good either. A solid 65-68 all the time would be the most ideal, but if they are going to be too hot or too cold, I would go with the cold. No worry about bacteria, etc.

    quick q about temps.

The most important thing like Racer said is the water temps, if you can keep them in the 60's the tops of the plants can do fine with higher temps.

    quick q about temps.

    thanx guys for responses b/b , n racerx ,
even w/ just the 4 hrs darkness air temps are at 58-59 so water temps cooler than that , ill steal my fishes thermometer for a lil bit n get an acurate cell temp and resevoir temp also .
stuffs in a cold basement so he put res./ cells up on 1in. thick siding foam insul . if not enuf we have sheeted a pallet w/ white shower suround material on it to put under the cells in the room and can raise the res. to match so warmer air can circulate under cells in room .
he really doesn't wanna havta run a heater in res. n havta recirculate the sys. yet , later maybe once bugs are worked out n cell spacing is figured out etc... but we thought he might get a few girls off first for trial n error / learning curve . we've done independent 5 gal. buckets before w/ great sucess but w/o a res. but they used a gal or more a day when in flower and quickly became a p.i.t.a filling buckets manually . so he got 8 farms n tex cntrlr. to try it . obv. u can do more than 4 farms under a 1000w light but he has never grown during the cooler mos . and we didn't wanna loose alot of time or the genetics to cold temp probs.
w/ the res./cell temps what is the min. the girls will put up w/ before death occours . rootrot etc... ?
    peace
