Some wait and some don't. It is generally easier for the clones when they do not have allot of stored nitrogen/N in the leaves because instead of producing roots to search for water and nutes into the soil the cutting uses the stored N to feed off so the roots take longer to grow because they have a self contained source of food.

I'm wondering do you have to wait a while after fertilizing before cloning? I think I saw that somewhere but can't recall where .... could some one here confirm it?
