whats the premis of the movie --i heard a few people talkin about it and i never seen it .....its rated r right ?.......
i like wierd movies but havent seen donnie darko...

amazing film for certain. ive only seen it twice. but for some reason cant really understand it.

to my perspective:

donny gets these weird trips for what he thinks are from his pills. they make him do dirty deeds (done dirt cheap). and pretty much fuck shit up for everyone around him. he finds out about time travel and then somehow reverses time to where he dies from the plane motor crashing through his house...

can anyone fill in the blanks for me?

Confused, messed up teen sleepwalks and an airplane engine falls into his bedroom while he was gone. He has a large bunny rabbit friend named Frank, (halucination) that convinces him that the world will end unless he travels back in time and accepts his original fate.

Lots of social commentary, and a great 80's soundtrack. The basic message is that the world is full of shit, and a messsed up kid who believes in himself can find the truth.

Just watch it high (the second time, preferably) and you will understand it.

Pretty trippy film if you ask me. His pills were placebo btw, well in the director's cut anyway, which I guess is the one I saw.
