some way to limit signatures?

i know everbody likes to express themselves but seriously, the signatures are out of control. On many forums now it is very hard to wade through the posts due to the clutter of the thread.

This is mainly because people feel the need to put as many as three to four separate quotes in their signature of things people have said before them. Can we limit the number of characters for signatures or something please?

I absolutely agree!!!!
There should be a limit on how many lines, and the font size.
I think 4 lines in the standard 12-point font is plenty for peeps to express themselves.

I'm all for it... there are restrictions on all aspects of server load,,,but none on brain load...

It's true! Some of that stuff goes overboard and does bog ya down when gleening for some pearl or funny story. Some of the quotes are amusing and I wonder if there would be some kind of way of placing expiration dates which could automatically delete stagnant quotes and such.

yes thanks you the thing is ...do u really think sig's even far 900 characters long really cause much if any change to the speed fo the boards>? no

if the boards slowed down due to amount of text .....it wouldnt be much god would it? i mean a server like that would collapse on itself asoon as more then 25 members post a message.....


sigs may annoy you......but then people who ready papers on trains annoy me.......much i can do about it? dont think so, dont wanna sound rude bt tis the only way i can put it.

plenty of things about the boards i cant control i hate.....but i put up with them for the enjoyment of coeming a chatting to fine people such as yourself hehehhe bugger me if i care about the amount of writting under someone elses name

thats what i getting on mate the size of the sigs make absolutly no diffrence to server at all so why change anything? to satisfy a handfull of people? then why dont they take the legal bud adverts off the site if more then half agree?......cos we cant have it all our own way,
