i used to use them all the time in my glass bongs/pipes, but they don't really work that well, unless you have a very large bowl... they tend to just stick to one side of the bowl and not really 'screen' anything... i would start using glass screens, but i've heard from basicly everyone who's owned one, that they just get lost like fucking crazy... so fuck it, i'll just stuff toilet paper in my pipe til it's resinated enough that ash doesn't come flying in my mouth. as for bongs, well... the water does a pretty good job of filtering ash and hot embers...

The reason I hate bowls is because you get fucking ASH in your mouth half the time (not talking about scooby snacks/hot lunches like just every time you hit you get a little ash).
