There are much more degrading jobs than waiting. For instance, a cashier. I've seen cashiers get treated like dog shit in Wal-Mart. They're on their feet a lot. Now in my opinion, I would feel much more obligated to tip a cashier than a waiter.

At my old job, I did both......
