Wow......just got busted. Well I was gonna have a nice smoke in about 20min, when my mom comes in and says she smells pot and that I have been smokin. Well I play cool, and for 10min she searches my room relentlessy, until she finds my pipe, lighter, and my 1/4oz of herb I had just got....The herb is purple and is very stinky. My dad is completly fine with it, because he knows it doesnt affect my grades at all, but my nazi mom thinks its the devil. I know all the arguments in favor for pot, because I have done lots of research on it. So I'm just going to have to set her down and explain everything to her, because she is a very conservative/simple minded person..

For serious. My GF and I have looked long and hard for studies against MJ. Even looked on the DEA (who by the way literally lies. They make some statement like â??MJ kills peopleâ?� then cites a pro MJ study. I guess they get away with it cuz no one checks the citations) Anyhoo there are two correlational studies which are negative. They are mis-stated when ever they are cited. This is because correlational evidence is never CAUSAL unlike how it is presented. They found that drop outs smoke more bud than normal students. They state this fact in such a way that it looks like MJ Causes people to drop out. This is a conclusion that shouldnâ??t have been made, it is literally a lie.
BTW it is called the third variable problem if anyone is interested.

Then ask her if legality should dictate your morality.

your dad just probably did a 180 cuz he caught shit for what you were doing, which i don't think should be a factor in this at all... i mean you couldn't of possibly calculated the risk of it all, but you definately dont' want to shove a wedge between your mother and father... i think you need to have a convo with your dad, about what he feels is right and wrong, and about not just 'fronting' becuase someone important to him feels diffrently then he does.. i also think you need to tell your mom (and yes i'm typing this) to research it for herself, to not just believe the first thing she reads, but research the internet, including govt. bullshit, and norml funded AND APPROVED STUDIES... with so much information flowing back and fourth between the world these days, it can be hard to find what is real, and what is made up... but more usually then not, the study that seems to repeat itsself with the same results over and over (in example: alcohol is more damaging both to the mental psyche and physical body than marijuana is) are more than likely true... especially if funded by completely diffrent sides of the spectrum (i'm making this one up, as it's the only one that sums up every govt. against marijuana) "coalition against mairjuana" and other studies formed by companies and orginsations for marijuana have confirmed this finding...

this is a side note for anyone reading, i'm using pure examples as i can't be bothered (thanks lip, easier then saying i dont' feel like doing it, research for yourself you lazy bastards) to go and find actual case studies that confirm one and another even tho they're on completely diffrent sides of the specturm.

if facts wont' work, then nothing will, period. i can't stress this enough, if someone is so anti-pot that they refuse to listen to any other argument then the ones force fed down their throats for so long, that they won't listen, just to both sides of the story, then nothing you can possibly do is going to make them accept it.... being kicked out sucks, yes, but sometimes being forced to move on is for the best... where you go, what you do is on you, do i actually think they're goign to end up making you leave? no... bu ton the slight case they are, unless you're willing to change everything about you, you just aren't fitting to live with them anymore...

parents don't always agree with what kids do, hell they rarely ever do.... even if that thing they are against is something they did themselves as a kid... more often then not, they think they've gone through some miraculous epiphinay and think they know what's best for you, but mostly, they are just trying to make your life better then theirs was, and can you really blame them? if you had a kid, would you want to make them go through the same pain as you did as a child? of course not, ultimately, you have to realize you're parents are there, mostly to protect you from evil, and anything they find evil, they will do their damnedest to fight against....

can you really blame them for that? it's sad, that an ordinary herb(well ordinary if it weren't for govt.'s of all countries) trying to tell us said herb is bad, splits up families as it does... but it happens and you just happen to be one of the unlucky ones to experience it...

above all you have to realize your parents are trying to look out for the best for you, they're not trying to just be killjoys and take what you like from you for the hell of it, they see it fit to seperate you from said thing, and you must commend/respect them for that... belive it or not, this is what your parents believe, and they're just trying to protect you, no matter how badly you think they're just trying to ruin your fun... i never had parents, but i know this.... i am now a parent myself, and realize everything i hear about here, and how kids feel about their parents, what the parents must really think about it all... the only way you can get through to these feelings they feel is protecting you, is to show them proof, and honestly, the only way anyone is ever going to believe anything, is if they see it for themselves. about something such as this, that means researching the facts for themselves, as they'll probably just refuse to believe anything you say, or show them....

Sounds tough, but I don't think they really kicked you out. Like you said the ol' man was in a rage. Go stay with a friends for a few days if you can and leave em wondering what happend to you. How old are you anyway? They can't really kick you out if you arn't 18. It is there house and You gotta respect that. I don't see how family can turn you out or rat you out. I'm blessed in that area. My family will always be there for me and I've given them more then my fair share of white hairs hahaha

Wow man, your goin through a VERY similar situation to me right now. Except i didnt get kicked out of my house, but I might leave my mothers custody willingly. I got caught with a pipe and my dad had to convince my mom not to call the cops on me, and my dads tite with me smoking. Good luck though man, I wish id of read this post earlier, I convinced my mom that it was ok, but she said as long as its illegal I dont want you doing it, not until im 18. I really shoulda brought up slavery or does the legality of everything dictate morality? good advice man, if I can convince my mom, it should be possible for anyone.

One of my old friends' dad used to smack him around, all the way up until he was 18. Used a belt, threw him down stairs once or twice. He flipped one time whe he was 18 and stabbed his dad up. Not sure if his dad's still alive but he's serving 14 months in prison. Moral of the story is, kill your parents.
