My rockwool has a green spot!

Common sence would tell me its algae but why is it just on one cube? On the other hand its under light, is it algae? And do I need to get rid if this? I attached a pic...

Thx guys and gals, I know your overworked and underpaid, but I sure appreciate it.

You can scrape it off and it probably may show up on more, but it is usually not a prob unless it starts covering the whole cube. You can get a spray or something that can help to prevent it. Also some people cover up the RW cubes because it is really caused by the light hitting the cube which is holding so much moisture.

I like the idea of covering but thier first food is provided via drip... So what do you do then?

Like I said, it is really no big deal, just something that comes with the use of RW. Nothing to realy worry about IMO.
