Why isnt my PH level more stable?

Well I lower it and it jumps a whole point by the end of the day. Ive been trying to get it down to about 5.1-5.8 and it seems everytime I check it goes futher up lol. Is this normal? Its only an 8 gallon res and Im just starting and Im unsure why this is happening.

Your ph will change daily your supposed to adjust as much as needed the onlything you can do to help this is buying ph stabalizeing nutes. As your plants eat they will make your ph go up, its normal just make sure u check the ph at least twice a day i ussually do it when i wake up and befor i go to sleep.

Are you using real PH down? Home products such as vinagur and lemon juice will not hold a stable PH for the same amount of time as real PH up and down. Also, 5.1 is fairly low and can lock out some nutes. The lowest you want to really go is 5.3IMO.

I'd use RO or distilled water. Solved the problem for me. I second the 5.1 being too low--IMOT

I purchased the small bottles of PH up and down made by General Hydroponics. I live in the woods esentially and there are no hydro stores around. At this rate I should of bought a gallon of PH down. Is there a cheap PH down home brew or something? Well Im glad this is normal Ill just keep checking it... Im glad im not working right now geez
