members seem confused about my political views, and what conservatism actually means. I feel that for this reason perhaps it would be wise for me to tell you what conservatism means to me. I don’t expect you to agree with my positions, nor am I trying to debate you, simply give you insight into what real, true conservatism is.

I believe in a very limited government, in particular the federal government, which I see having no business interfering in the affairs of my state on any issue not vital to national security. I believe in the elimination of the federal income tax, and over all low taxes , on people of all classes, because I believe it is not only immoral to take the income of a person or business , be it rich or poor without their permission, as well as a hinder on economic growth. I believe that if you have more money in your pocket, you are likely to either spend it on local business, or save it. Either way is an investment in the future, and I believe to be fair.

I am against any federal funding of social programs; however this does not mean that I am against social programs all together. Each state could set their own social programs. The people within set state would be represented by their officials, not officials from other states who have no business making decisions for people that do not represent to begin with. If a state decided they wanted massive spending on social programs, while another thought otherwise, it would create competition between them and the better state would win out. The other states would quickly follow suit, and the best system would work itself out, fairly, and for far, far far less money. It would create new jobs within the state, less corruption, and better monitoring of not only how the money is spent, but what it's effects are, be them negative or positive.

I am for a strong military. We need a strong military to protect our nation from outside threats. I am not however in favor of serving the worlds interests with our troops. For this reason, I suggest that when this war is over, we pull all our troops over seas, not only from the Middle East, but Europe as well. If a threat should arise where it is necessary to send troops back to these nations, we can do so without being accused of being a police force. It will also put pressure on European nations to play ball with us, as they will no longer have our military to protect them.

I want to see the courts loaded only with judges that will strictly interpret the constitution. Judges need be neither democrat, nor republican, conservative or liberal. They simply need to put their personal opinions, feeling and political views aside and perform the job required of them to the best of their ability within the confinements of constitutional law. For this reason, I am strongly against living constitutionalist judges, activist judges, and over all political judges.

I am for a strong border, not only to protect our people from threats, but to protect the American culture from outside interference. This is not to say that we need to clamp down so tight as to completely eliminate any chance of a foreigner gaining access to the United States, but we do need a system in place where one must only be able to come into this nation legally, and with good intentions.

I believe strongly in capitalism. I believe that each man can make a difference if given a chance to do so. I believe that the small business of today, given a chance can be the big business leaders of tomorrow. I believe in working for your fair share, not restrictions on how far a person can go, how large they can build their dream, or how long that dream can last for. For this reason, I want complete elimination of corporate welfare as well, as it is not only a waste of money and resources, but over all bad for capitalism, as it does not allow the free market to dictate it's own terms, and the better product, or better company is not always given the fair chance to succeed over a competitor.

If I have left anything, sorry. But I think this gives you some insight into what conservatism means to me, and why I strongly believe it is the best solution for the future of not only this nation, but the world.
