Need Quick Advice "Lighting"

We finally had plants to break surface and want to put them under light a.s.a.p.... and needed to know if this is the time to place them under the 400 watt m/h..
WE ONLY have a 400 watt m/h light system and needed to know how high to place the light above the plants to get them rolling..and how high to keep th elight off them as they grow..and at what point should we place the cuble in the hydrosystem as of now the cubes are sitting in a tub in a heated room???
Hopefully tomorrow we can get pic's of plants and start a grow log here if it is okay and get some "PRO" advice as we go as this is our first grow and all we learned is from here and hope to continue getting help here with our first grow???????
We now have 12 plants growing and hope at least half will be females??
ANY questions please ask....

This would be considered a bad question I believe and no one will most likely answer. I know this becuase I asked bad questions too and I didnt get an answer. Best thing to do is eduacate your self with basic info. I provided a link from Esoteric it teaches you the basics and applies to all forms of hydro. Im new aswell and I thought id try to help.

Start at about 2 feet. put your hand at top of plants...If it is not hot, then that height will work. I have a 400w MH about 2 feet above my white widow seedlings...peace

WOW things seem to be going great and got plants showing and all and light lit up and now want to post pic's to get advice along the way as we grow,, PLEASE take a easy on us as this is our first grow and we are just two lonely blond chicks with too much time on our hands and wanna do something different and be good at it ,, so if anyone can help us post pic's here we can guess you say start a grow log and let u pro;s tell us how to do it along the highway as we go.......down the M.J. Trail...............
