LSTing - Please Look, need suggestions
I think soft yarn is good, or those stretchy plastic ribbons that florists use... you should avoid strangling your plant with something that won't 'give' as it grows thicker.

I make a little collar with a tab with duct tape around the stem, punch a hole in the duct tape, and tie things to that- I've been using mini bungee cords recently because they already have hooks one the ends and are [durrr] nice and stretchy. I just don't want to run the risk of damaging the stem and possibly letting disease into the plant.
