    a little question on soil/compost mixture

    im planning on using organic compost and soil w/ nutrients, a friend of mine reccommended using crushed peanut shells and bark chips, has anyone ever heard or used this before? jus wonderin if its good or bad :rasta:

    a little question on soil/compost mixture

    Don't do it. Bark chips have tannins (organic acids) in them. Not good for plants.
    Use nice old compost (cow manure, leaf humus, compost-heap compost that's well-rotted!!! No chickenshit! It's too hot.) mixed up to 50% with perlite.
