I don't see anything wrong with living out in the country and hunting for food, but if you hunt just for the fun of killing something, then that's kind of messed up.

huh.. gun vs animal = fair kill?

i think if the guy fought the doe with his barehands and killed it, then it would have been a FAIR kill.

Oh and of course. deers are troublesome and breed like rabbits. Us humans though, are not like that at all.

so what's the difference in killing either of those in the end?

    Heheh, fair enough.

I know killing deers isn't a big deal at all; it is in fact a fucking sport. From what I understood the "dude" was just killing for fun. Maybe it wasn't the case, but that's why I got defensive about it.

Don't you have warm blood flowing in your veins? Don't you feel anything at all for other living beings on this planet? Without deers my man, things would be very different. I pay respect to everything this planet offers us, but that's just me.

W/o hunters, the deer would overpopulate, strip thier food supply, and die of starvation. The sad truth is that hunters are needed for the ecosystem, and for the balance of life. W/o wolves, or man, deer have no natural enemy to keep them under control. They need us for the survival of thier species.

Sorry to barge in like that, but it had to be said...

Exactly, here in Pittsburgh and the outer suburbs the deer popluation is insane, they have no natural predators so like Billionfold said "They breed like rabbits" and come this time of year (rut) they are everywhere. Do you realize how many more people would be killed in fatal car crashes with dear if hunting was stopped. It's not like we are hunting deer into extinction, we can barley keep the population under control as it is.

While we're mentioning it probably should be noted that the 'balance of life' i.e. wolves, is out of whack because man has shot/trapped/poisoned them to near extinction. Devistated their habitat for the sake of urban sprawl, ski condos and clear cut forests.

Hunting is part of life..yes. But it's an almost sacred thing. What this asshole did wasn't hunting. He's the same kinda dipshit redneck who shoots up road signs, smashes mailboxes in the country, spraypaints 'bubba was here' on a canyon wall, and dumps his garbage off the bridge into the creek.

There's no excuse for cruelty to animals just for the power hard-on. In fact it's the first thing they look for in the psychographic profiles of serial killers and psychopaths.
