Guns aren't the problem, imo. People are. Everyone wants to blame something else, and deny that we [humans] are the ones who fucked up!

Don't blame the guns, blame ourselves.

    That's my stand, anyway...

    Much Love,
thats my whole point..people are the one fuckin everything up....whether their uses guns or not, its just a tool used to do so...

    Much Love,
Do you eat what you shoot? Use the fur as clothing?
Or do you just chop the head off and mount it above your fireplace.

I agree that humans need to hunt, they have needed to do this for.. well.. a long time.

However.. when you've reached a point in society where you basically have farms of "food" both animal and vegetable...hunting becomes sport.. not a need.

And this "sport" is making a major difference on the entire ecosystem.

    http://www.fao.org/newsroom/en/news/...251/index.html

It shows on all levels.. and until hobby hunting or "sport" hunting is banned.. we'll only make it worse.

Well ... If that's what it's going to take, so be it.

p.s i guess guns on an whole are overrated in my opinion, but that's for another thread.

I don't care much for Mr. Heston, lol! But, I do support our right to bear arms. I also supprt hunting, and I alway eat what I kill. (Read my posts) And yes, I hunt also because I enjoy it. Not the killing part, but rather the part that allows me to connect with nature, and of course the bonding among fellow hunters. We have a deer camp, and about 10 of us go every year, and it's a great time.

I do mount my trophy's, and yes they're hanging on my wall. Seems a little twisted, but these trophy's are just memories/reminders of the good times I had with friends.

As for raising live stock for food, I think that's far crueler than to hunt something wild. Cows are raised for the slaughter, and veal, I don't even want to talk about that.

You don't hunt, and that's cool. I just don't enjoy being looked down upon, when I do nothing wrong, and when I actually 'help' to keep deer from killing themslves off.

I didn't czeck your link, Bob, but I will...

Is another example of how overfishing is throwing a lot of things off all over the world.
I don't blame you for being looked down on but surely you have to understand how the other side feels. Animals are food for us. We are at the top of the food chain and it's been proven that sport hunting has destroyed countless species.
I find it kind of funny that you can shoot an animal that was born in the wild, has enough to contend with already but don't agree with raising animals specificly for food.
Look at chickens even .. we raise them, take and hard boil their children then eat them.

We do it by the millions too..

This however is what keeps us from starvation.

I simply don't see any reason for hunting a wild animal unless you have the full intentions of using that animal as food and or clothing.

I saw a black bear in my back yard,I just stood and watched in aw... I hope we go the right road and restore all the natural predators,as Fengzi mentioned...

I killed a ground hog when I was 7 by the tutelage of my grandfather, that is when I knew I did not have the heart to kill anything...

I limit my killing for fun to varmints and pests, Iv shot people (In war) and animals...I actually feel worse when a dog gets hit by a car than a person. Im so desensitised now its not funny. I don't agree with killing non-varmint animals for fun, but hunting is great fun. I always eat the meat...hunting for me is more of a social bonding activity.
