I don't think anyone has ever tried with that few lumens...An ordinary 20w fluor gives about 1 500 lumens.
You could use the MH if you keep the seedlings at least a yard away maybe even more until they get sturdier, depending on whatever the temps are at plant level.

Would 470lumens be enough for two seedlings? i started out with 6 plants. as soon as they broke through the soil, i put them under a 400 watt mh bulb (stupid as hell, i know).. needless to say, the plants started to get skinny and shrivle up due to the heat.. 4 died. 2 are still growin, but the leaves are a little yellow. so i went out and tried to look for some fluorescent lights, but the store i went to only had ONE fluorescent light. its a 33 watt long tube aquarium/grow light and gives out only about 470 lumens. would this be Rating: 5
