    Cloning Questions (some redundant)

    Bunch of cloning questions!
I have read many articles and posts so if some these are redundant I apologize and I appreciate your answers.

I have two ice females that I have been using to make clones but my flowering area is full so I am backing up and the females are getting tooooo big and I am trying to figure out what I can do. See picâ??s

    1) Can I cut 6 inches off the top and root that? The stalk is pretty thick and I wasnâ??t sure if it would work.
    2) My clones usually begin to root within 5 days, small but 10 or so roots by then, in rockwool. How long till I should move them to flowering?
    3) Do you pull them from the wool cubes or plant the cubes?
    4) Should I top the clones or let them go?
    5) Any comments would be great.

think woody stems dont root well as they dont have much carbs stored in them.

    leave them in the wool

flower them when they are the size you want

top them if you want to.

if there too big as in tall, then bend em over and tie em

you can always cut off 6 inches to make them shorter but only use the top bit to make a clone and toss the rest

    Cloning Questions (some redundant)

hello mate, Ive been reading info from this site for a while and been a member only for a while, but I have been involved in growing for many years now. In Australia due to customs laws you can only really clone. All I have ever done is clone so if you follow these simple rules you will have a 100% strike rate.
    1. Take a cutting two to six inches only
    2. Take cutting from woody branch as taking from soft wood will decrease chance of clone staying alive
    3. Make cut on angle not straight.
    4. Clean leaves from bottom of cutting, leaving only top of cutting with leaves.
    5. Use liquid, not powder hormone to clone.(purple/softwood)
    6. Use rockwool grow cubes. Soak them in 1/4 the strength you are currently using to feed the mother with. Once soaked, let them lose excess water, but ensure they are still moist. I usually leave for say 2-3 hours. Take a long thin object, similar to what you would use to check if a cake is cooked. Push this into the centre of grow cube and push through bottom of block.
7.Take cutting and dip in clone solution,( i also use a small syringe with clone solution in it and in push some into centre of rockwool where you made earlier hole to bottom).
8.Now take dipped cutting and push into centre of grow block. Push cutting into grow block so you can get leaves at top of cutting as near to the surface of the grow cube, ensuring that the bottom of cutting has about 1-1.5 inches before it would come out of bottom of grow cube.
    Thats it!

Ensuring that they are put in a grow box, if box has vent holes keep them open always and put under light for 18 - 24 hours.
Finally some tips, the week before taking the cuttings lower the amount of nutrients you use say 1/2 to a 3/4 tops. This will help lower N out of the N P K. As most nutrients deliver all as complete, just lowering The N is all that is needed so diluting nutrients a week prior will give greater root growth on cutting, this is fact as for years I would not drop nutrients prior to taking cuttings, but since doing this clones will look healthy quicker and root far faster. After one week under lights (fluorescent) they will need a little water. Water with water only for this water as there are salts still in grow cube. Week 2 after being in grow box the cuttings now should have rooted. So as you start week 3 start a very very light feed, without knowing what your using as nutrients its hard to say but the safest way would be say if the bottle shows 10ml per 10L, I would mix only 10% of this at first water and increase by 5% each week, without going over 50% this is usually the best and what I use.
    Happy growing mate.

sorry, also never trim clones, and you wont have if you follow guidlines buddy. Also leave in wool when planting. But ensure you water them like you would rockwool (not much) when you first plant. i.e if you put clone in perlite you wouldnt water 4 times per day for 15min as you would with perlite. Under HPS or MH the moisture will go quicker so if you water only once per week they will die. Less is best, you can increase water slowly, but to much to early will kill them then its to late to go back.

Sounds like some good cloning advice, the only thing I may differ on is the soft cuttings verses woody, but it is a small thing in the midst of some good info. Also with the mothers, if they are getting to big for your taist, you could always bush them out a little and throw them into flower and keep two healthy clones off of them and just train them to be smaller mothers.

Woody cuttings will take just fine but may have to be scarified.
And that avatar is not going to make you any friends among the female growers here.

Actually... it's a rank booty. Really. Not even wearing a thong... and not leaving anything to the imagination. Can you say... skirt steak? Ewwwww.

Either you are saying that he has a feminine side or that he is a twat.
    Hm.
Either way I'd like to see the feminine side represented by the Venus de Milo, or by one of Frieda Kahlo's freakier self-portraits.
And the other represented by ANYTHING by Georgia O'keefe.
I just don't want to look at another chica's privates!
