Stoner rock has been described as easily as the genre is said... smoking some marijuana and listening to some good ol' fashion rock. Stoner rock are usually bands like

Queens of the Stoneage

I wanted to make a thread all about stoner rock. Toss some songs/bands around. I'll start with a few:

damn brah i love stoner rock but those bands arnt my fav's...

Original Stoner Rock was Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hendrix.. thats what i listen to, the new stuff doesnt interest too much. Im a big fan of the melvins tho, they still play, but they've been around since the 80's.

other bands that are pleasing to the ear while being stoned...

There's PLENTY of types of stoner rock, you've definetly got some good ones up there, I too am a big fan of the oldies stoner rock. Hendrix, Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane, and some Van Halen.

wow no more than 15 minutes after my post i sat down and made up a song, that could fit into the stoner rock catagory... although its also very experimental sounding, cuz its all composed with fruity loops Studio 6... check it out, i think you all will like it.... its called Electronic Rock N' Roll

kyuss are the fucking kings of stoner rock no question they dominate
i dont consider most of the bands mentioned here stoner rock if you are talking specific genre. but they are rock you like high, and if thats what you mean then it is just good rock. labels are useless and i like most bands listed save a few
