legal help needed-busted in CA

so to make a long story short...i was speeding, pulled over and the officer smelled weed from my car. He pulled us out and searched the car finding like 2 grams i had left. he wrote me a misdemeanor citation for it, took the weed, and let me go.I have a court date coming up in december. I'm 18 and have never been in trouble with the law before, and the idea of having a marijuana conviction on my recordis bothering me a lot recently. Is my only option a guilty plea? As an 18 year old what is the penalty I am facing? will my driving priveleges be affected? will i have to go to treatment programs? fine?

I am just a poor college student, if anyone can offer me and legal advice it would be much appreciated.

did he write you a speeding ticket? if not then you are stoked. Its better to get a weed ticket in cali. U will have to pay a little fine and take a drug class which also cost money, He could have got you for a DUI. Id say just plea guilty and the the little fine and take the class, you will be ok. Shit talk about a poor college student I couldnt even go to class today because my car is on a 30 day hold at the tow yard and im stuck in a different county, It cost $27 a day, its bullshit, so your a lot better off than me.
