I've had my tongue pierced for over a year now and it never bothers me until I get high. It's not painful or anything like that, just a bit annoying. And I always feel like I'm pressing super hard on my lip piercing with my top lip. I stopped smoking right after I first got it pierced because I got so paranoid that I was pressing against it hard enough that it would fuck it up while it was healing.
