    god?

This has been a real interesting thread for me as I am currently looking for what religious belief is right for me as there are so many out there right now. Both of my parents never went to church as I was growing up but both went to religious schools when THEY were growing up. They never really talked about God with me unless I asked them about God. I know bits and pieces about the bible and I am very interested in learning about the bible.

I believe in God and I believe that everyone has a purpose in life...I don't know what the purpose is. Anyway, I read everyone's replies in this thread and each post makes some sense to me, to a point...except the very first post.

The more I read about different religion out there, the more confused and overwhelmed I get. How do you know when certain religion is right for you? How do you go about looking for a place where you can go to learn about God and know it's the right one?

I apologize if I sound silly and a bit ignorant.

    Hi Cheery,

No one can tell you what 'religion' will be right for you; there are so many things to consider. Like, what do you value? What do you want out of this life? I can help you discern what 'not' to get caught into, but I won't be specific.

When discerning which would suit you best, look at those who are part of that religion. What spirit are they walking in? Are they angry, or peacful? Are they boastful, arrogantly proud, or calm and sensible? Do they exhibit contentment, or discontent?

In reality, no religion is perfect. There will always be some who spoil the message, and pervert it. I personally found my path in Christ. Although, the Bible can be very complex and confusing, particularly for those just entering into this religion. So, with that said, enter in the straight gate if thinking about the Christian faith. Some call the straight gate the entire Bible, while others call it living according to the rules therein, but I call it Love.

Jesus' entire life on this earth was about the love of God. He taught, he preached, he lived that Love. Christ was a shining example of what it means to know Love and live it. He was killed because of the darkness in mans heart, and for that very reason he came...so that we might be free from that kind of darkness through what he taught, and by his example. Most Christians disagree with the sentiment, they focus on his death, and not his life. He was said to be the 'Word of God' and I personaly believe he lived that word, and taught it well.

Even so, this is your choice to make. Some make the Bible into a scary book, but others see with their hearts, and understand who God is. I can't tell you, as you will know when you find it. (Deep inside) I might give you a hint though...

    Love,

I dont belive in God, because i cant understand what he or it means.

I mean, EVERYTHING in this universe has a cause, but does God have to have a cause? If he exsisted, then yes, he would. And "the big bang" .... that would have to have had a cause too.

I dont even know if this has anything to do with this thread rofl.

    You're welcome, Cheery Cherry...

I understand that I'm not much help, as choosing a path is a difficult, and very personal choice. I hope you find what you are looking for, and I truly hope you come to know the Love that is honored in most every religion of the world.

    Much Love,

I am not religious, but if there is some Nature Goddess than that is fine with me.
