this is the likeliest culprit, if you light your lighter anywhere near your bowl.... or play with the spark wheel, when you turn it all slow, the dust builds up inside, so even ifyou light it far away from the bowl then tilt it to light the bowl, it could still have the same effect.... i do this all the time for fun/boredom
