If you want her, then go for it. I have to disagree with the people saying just stay friends and nothing more, because if you really like her you shouldn't settle for that to keep a friendship. If you two are good friends then you will probably stay friends whether or not you get involved in a relationship with her, so it shouldn't be a concern.

If there can be something more between you and her, then don't let that go to waste, because not acting on it may be something you will really regret later on.

Funny you made that point, IF, b/c that long-time friend and I were actually hanging out this weekend, and she posed some obviously fake 'hypothetical' question to me about what I would do if a girl that was strictly a friend, for 4 years, gave me some 9-page letter confessing her love for me. Lol, and I thought...'we've been friends for 4 years...and...I guess I don't know if you have feelings for me?...' So I took it as her way of trying to judge MY reaction if she happened to drop a 'real' letter on me. And it never dawned on me that she might still be holding something back even after all this time. I honestly have no idea, and still don't, lol. And never will, apparently.

I dunno, I'm rambling like a baffoon, but I think you've got to go for it, 100%, otherwise, years later, those 'what-if' thought sessions will literally have you up at night wondering why you didn't 'pull the trigger'. You never know until you do, and I think the curiosity alone of what coulda been is reason enough to at least take a stab. Take a step. Anything.

My wife and I have been married for 10 years and we were friends for 2 before we married. In my opinion it makes for a better relationship. We didn't do all that fake stuff you do while you are dating, because we already knew eachother. I didn't know however that from day one she was attracted to me, and I was the one that finally made the move. My advice is to just go for it and see waht happens. Don't look back later on and ponder what if.
