Ugly People

In your opinion, what makes a person ugly? I mean if a person does all kinds of messed up shit..maybe even break the law, but is nice and goes out of the way to help other people...does that make that person bad or ugly?

A friend of mine had a messed up childhood and never felt he belonged anywhere. He did a lot drugs and hurt himself (and many people around him has hurt him) more than he deserves to. He has a lot of love in him but it's buried deep within him. He would never hurt anyone and is the most caring, thoughtful and helpful guy. He feels so down and thinks that the world see him as an ugly person.

So I'd like to know...how would you view someone who does messed up shit? What are some of the examples of things that people do that makes you want to turn your back on them?

Me and your friend have a lot in common, be he has one more friend than I do.

I don't judge people simply by how they treat me. I judge them by how they treat other people as well. You, being a female, should be aware that just because a man is nice to you doesn't mean he is a nice man. It just means he's horny.

But I don't know your friend, so I can not say anything specifically about him.

So not physically ugly, but rather your opinion of that person is "tainted" or changed because of something they did? Am I close?

I have a friend that was kind of wierd like that. Back in high school, a lot of our friends started getting heavy into blow, and if she even caught word that one of her close friends was doing it, ALL ties were cut off. She just had this nasty connotation with it, and I guess I get it to a point, but I saw her cut off ties with some of her good friends. I just think it's a little silly to do something like that, because blow doesn't really define who you are. Maybe that's just me. But yeah, that's me story =)

I personally don't care as long as they're respectful to me and so on.

I think someone base someone who is ugly or not on how they treat me and others around me.
I tend to rip all the fluffy fakeness fronts and see the person for who they really are. I decide then wether someone is ugly or not. I'm not a based on looks kind of girl. Not really.
But I don't think someone who hurts themselves and everyone around them should be called ugly. Its probably not their fault but I might be turning the other cheek because I feel bad for them because of what they've been through like your friend.

I dont think your friend is ugly at the least but thats just me.

Yes, I meant ugly on the inside. I see other people treating him differently once they learn how messed up he is and he has a difficult time dealing with that. I just want to understand why people are like this.

i think he is trying to play the "feel sorry for me' then i can bang you game. You wouldn't be the first to fall for it hehe just give him some lovin, that will help his self esteem bigtime. who cares what he did in the past as long as he can see a brighter future. oh well thats just my take on it. maybe he really feels sorry for himself and doesnt want to get in your pants. but then again he may just be trying to explore his emotions and get in your pants hmmm hard to tell.
