i thought the rule of thumb for scrog was 40% of the screen filled then u flip them to 12/12. if i waited for 80% filled wouldnt it overgrow my cab?

Infact, to do it properly, you don't need any of the screen filled before 12/12, people still do it though, 40%-80%, if you want to, don't matter.
