^^What WH said. Sounds like your e&f works better because it doesn't count on an airstone to add O2 to teh root zone, and that was lacking in your particular style of DWC. Add and airstone, control your room temps, and get ready to GROW!

I have had significant problems with the DWC system due to the roots being in the water/nutes. But until their roots reached the water; they were growing like crazy. Then the rot set in. The temp of the water may have been too high and a lot of other things might have contributed to this. I made the DWC with a drip feature as well. The Ebb & Flow is a store bought model and I have achieved OK results. I am looking to upgrade and would like the Rating: 5
