My sister, Charlotte Elizabeth, 1955 - 2006
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

That poem helped me a lot after my daddy died.

My sister, Charlotte Elizabeth, 1955 - 2006 Many of you who??re familiar with me know that my family??s been in the long, painful process of losing my older sister to ovarian cancer in recent months. Bess died very early this morning, surrounded by our family. She fought a courageous battle against her cancer for nearly five years, and her terminal condition only became clear within the last four months or so as the disease spread to her brain. It??s very hard for me to write about the type of person she was right now. But if Rating: 5
