Hi,

You're doing pretty well for the first grow. A few tips you'd want to consider are:

1) Next time you grow in soil you want to use a 50:50 mixture of soil and perlite. Yep, 50%:50%. In growing weed you want to keep as much oxygen in the soil as you can and want to have a light fluffy soil mixture so that you get rapid and explosive root formation.

2) Next time you want to buy a few products such as; a part A nutrient, part B nutrient, a root stimulator, a flowering booster, some acid for adjusting pH, and a micronutrient solution. Cannabis is not like other plants and you SHOULD NOT really use ferts that you can buy at your local supermarket. The ferts you use with weed are not the X:X:X type. B'cuzz is one brand name (what I use) but there are many more and you should use what you find works for you.

3) Get a pH meter and an EC meter. EC means the amount of disolved solids in your water and pH is the acidity/alkalinity of the watering solution.

4) Feed from bottom and let the top of the soil remain dry. This encourages roots to dive down and out from the stem.

5) Buy a flushing solution and during the last 10-14 days before harvest flush with pure water for the first 3-4 days and then with the flushing solution for the rest.

Now I know that this sounds like a lot of kit to purchase, but the solutions are only used in quantities of 1-2ml per litre anyways so a $15 bottle of A & B & Boost will last you a couple of harvests with the amount you're growing. And it should be noted that it will pay for itself the first harvest after you buy them (you'd get twice or three times the harvest!!!) Also remember that you've done a good job so far but that there's always room for improvement and that this will pay BIG dividands later.

DO NOT use Miracle Gro (sorry all those who are, but you should all know better by now if you've been reading the posts on this board and other weed sites.) It might work wonders on Roses and such flowers but then you're not really wanting to smoke those are you and apart from the fact that the nutrients are in the TOTAL WRONG quantities for weed, they are all chemical and not natural products at all and you're smoking that shit!!!)

Don't worry about the fan blade for now but you should get a new fan for next time. We use fans (oscillating) for two reasons; 1) it keeps the air moving, 2) it keeps the plants moving which forces them to grow big and strong.

Listen to people like Zander and also to experienced growers.

Keep up the good work, don't tell ANYONE that you're growing (just show up with pot for them 'out of the blue' and tell them you got it from someone else)

Well done!

Peace,

The Fr33kMan
