How marijuana changed my life
We're always hearing stories about how weed has effected people's live in a negative way. I'm not going to argue about whether or not any of those stories are factual. I don't know, and quite honestly, I don't care. What I do know to be true is my own personal journey, and this is it:
I started smoking weed for a couple of reasons. For one, I was curious. I wanted to know what it was like, and the only way to find out was by trying it. Second, I was an emotionally fucked-up youth, and I was prone to doing all kinds of stupid things. Not that smoking weed is a stupid thing to do, but it is a stupid thing for a kid to do.
Anyways, I tried it and I liked it. I became a regular smoker, and a broke smoker. Weed was (and still is) ridiculously over priced, and I was spending what little money I had on it. I also got ripped off more than a few times, either from skimpy sacks or poor quality buds. Once, I even got robbed at gunpoint for a mere $40. I figured my life had to worth at least $40, so I gave him the money.
I decided I had to find a better way. I bought a marijuana grower's guide from some hippy chick selling books on Telegraph Ave in Berkley, California. I had never tried to grow anything in my life. Gardening had never been one of my interests before. But when I started reading that book I was hooked. What a grand miracle it was to see step-by-step instructions for how to get something I couldn't afford, absolutely free.
I began growing my own weed.
But it wasn't weed I was hooked on. I became hooked on the act of gardening itself. I began growing other things too. I grew plants I could eat, and I grew plants that were beautiful to look at. I learned about the different roles that specific plants play in the ecosystem, and the roles of insects as well. I learned to stop killing the spiders because they eat some of the bugs that eat my plants!
I developed a greater understanding of nature, and my life became richer for it. A garden is not nature. A garden is our attempt to command nature. But it is a fantastic classroom to learn about life on our planet, as well as a source of good food and good memories.
Marijuana introduced me to gardening.
That's my experience.

Ive never really been that popular. always the one people didn't talk to and such. I met a lot of truly good people when i started hanging out with stoners that i wouldn't of met otherwise. Made a lot of new friends and discovered a wonderful mind altering substance.

Well basically I have never been really popular or anything and I would always want to do the stuff the 'cool' kids did and liked. The kids I thought were cool were the jocks and stuff. I always wanted to be good at sports and stuff like all the 'popular kids but I sucked at all sports. I would listen to only popular music and pretty much conform in any way. I was pretty afraid of weed and all drugs. I still never fit in and only had a few friends.
I eventually developed an interest in weed on my own and wanted to try it. I got some through my brothers friends and tried it. I loved it. I right away started smoking a lot. I started haning out with all the kids who smoked, and they are all really great people. I stopped trying to be like everyone else, and realized how fucking stupid I was before. I started developing my own tastes, and I could because now all my friends like me for who I am. All the people I thought were 'cool' I think are retarded.
Since I started smoking, I have not been afraid to be myself. I have gained many friends and I am happier than I was before.

This is how I feel, and this is also why cannabis is illegal, it can be grown freely and easily for anyone who wants it, and the capitalists don't like how that may impact their bank account.

... that, and I've had some of the most kickass times of my life just sitting around with my closest friends, sharing a joint or a bowl. Not that life can't be rich and enjoyable without weed, but hell, weed is fun as hell.
Shame they never play these kinds of drug stories on the news... :stoned:
