Why Can't You Clone fan leaves?
You can only clone fan leaves through tissue culture, where you can force the cells to revert to totipotency.
For slip cuttings that everyone calls cloning, the best part to grow roots is a node because there's a lot of totipotent cells that just naturally occur at each node that can become anything...leaf, stem, root, bud.
