Considered from a theosophic perspective, the Maya story of creation reveals its kinship with the worldwide wisdom tradition. It begins with the emptiness of the primordial waters of space, in a darkness which contains no manifested thing. There Hunab Ku, the divine one, the first cause, eternal, unborn, undying, all that was, is, and will be, uncontained, boundless, absolute, awakened from the dreamless sleep of thirteen eternities and emanated out of his own will the Heart of Heaven.

A one-dimensional emanation of Hunab Ku's own divinity, the Heart of Heaven was the recipient of all potentialities. Its only dimension, length, disappeared into the nonexistent breadth and height, and set in motion the process of cosmic evolution in planes of existence so spiritual that only the eye of the mystic could conceive it. Space was not, since there was nothing to contain it.

Time was not, since there were no events to divide it. There was only the incomprehensible divinity of Hunab Ku, permeating the Heart of Heaven which slumbered for seven eternities. Then by the power of his word Hunab Ku thrilled the Heart of Heaven.

Awakening from its dreamless sleep, Heart of Heaven emanated the God Seven, the cosmic Demiurgus, the creator, one in essence, seven in manifestation. This interpretation of the Maya story brings out its similarities with other ancient accounts, such as the Stanzas of Dzyan, the Kabbala, and the Biblical Genesis.

The sacred numbers seven and thirteen relate to the Maya cycles of evolution and to their lunar calendar of 819 days (7 x 13 x 9).

The Galactic Butterfly is an ancient Mayan symbol said to
represent all of the consciousness that's ever existed in our galaxy.
The consciousness of living things. Including animals, plants and
humans etc. The consciousness that organized raw materials into
a whirling disk of stars, planets and solar systems. God..
This
symbol is called
the Galactic Butterfly
which is said to represent all of
the consciousness that has ever existed
in this galaxy. This is all of our physical ancestors
both human, animal, reptile, fish, shell fish, plants as well
as the consciousness which organized all of the raw material from
a whirling disk into stars then planets and solar systems. Big Meaning. So
big that the original Maya had no symbol for this. In their civilization it was like
having no name for God. Just knowing the concept was good enough. Later this pattern
was devised by Toltec or Zapatec weavers as a pattern for blankets and this is where Jose Arguelles
came across it. He called it Hunab Ku. The indigenous peoples call it "The Galactic Butterfly". Butterflies are seen as
ancestors returning for a visit to physicality. Wearing one of these symbols is very powerful as it broadcasts your reaching to
actively join the consciousness of our galaxy.

word up peeps

The Mayan Echo wheel represents the last 1144 years and is divided into 22 segments each of 52 years duration. There are 13 segments representing the 13 Lords of Light and 9 segments representing the 9 Lords of Darkness. Hitler was the last Lord of Darkness.
There is an arrow head at the top centre of the Mayan Sacred Tzolkin (calendar wheel) that represents 1935, when Hitler marched into Poland. Author and lecturer, Virgil Armstrong says that when Jesus left Earth, he met his dark brother at the doorway and said "they say that have 'got it', now go in and test them". Hitler was part of that dark brother energy. He served his part on the stage of Planet Earth very well, just as Jesus did..

A. 947 AD Quetzalcoatl was born.
B. 999 AD Quetzalcoatl died. Exactly 52 years, the length of one Heaven. Before he died he said he would return and bring peace.
C. 1519 AD Cortez arrived from Spain, exactly 572 years after Quetzalcoatl's birth. His military exploits caused much blood shed.
D. 1571 AD Deganawidah was born. He was the founder of the Great Peace League of the Iroquoise. Exactly 572 years after Quetzalcoatl's death.

E. 1207 the Confederacy of Mayapan was crystallised from the concepts of Quetzalcoatl's great Republic of the Tree.
F. 1779 Declaration of Independence Day on fourth of July. (May require slight adjustment to 1776). (572 years later)
By 1987 there were 52 states - Confederacy of the USA.

G. 843 AD the Mayan Empire totally collapsed.
G. 1987 (1144 years later). Our civilization starts to crumble

That butterfly thing is so awesome.... A friend linked me to another related article:
http://www.tomorrowsedge.net/imaginal-cells.html
After a caterpillar buries itself inside its cocoon, it waits to morph into a butterfly. The caterpillar does not simply shrink a bit and sprout wings. Instead, it sort of disintegrates into a puddle of ooze within the cocoon. If we were to open the cocoon halfway through the process, we would not find a half-caterpillar half-butterfly type creature, but a blob of goop. The goop is made up of a bunch of individual cells that are all basically the same type of oozy cells. For whatever reason, these new cells start popping up. They are not the original cells changing into these new cells, but rather they seem to come out of nowhere. These new cells are called imaginal cells and they are so completely different from the original ooze cells that they are thought to be a virus or some other form of enemy so the ooze cells begin attacking the imaginal cells. However, even though the imaginal cells are being killed off for not fitting in, they still keep showing up, more and more of them. Eventually, the imaginal cells begin to find each other and cluster together. Like attracts like, and the clusters begin to join up with other clusters. The original cells still keep attacking them but they continue to multiply and cluster together. Eventually, they get to be a large enough community and they switch gears from simply being a group of like-minded cells into the programming cells of the butterfly. Some imaginal cells start changing into wing cells, some start changing into antenna cells, some start changing into digestive tract cells, and so on. They are no longer imaginal cells but become butterfly anatomy cells. As we all know, if left alone to do his thing, the butterfly eventually emerges as a completely new entity from the original caterpillar. Do they hold the same memories, life lessons, and consciousness? Who knows? One would think that for survival of the species, the butterfly would still retain whatever knowledge the caterpillar had learned before entering into the cocoon state.
According to this page (in contrast with galacticbutterfly.com) the imaginal cells don't 'fight back' but simply keep multiplying and clustering together until they reach a point that their 'frequency' overtakes the chrysalis and they can begin their new roles as creators of the buttefly. Such a beautiful metaphor for overcoming adversity and transforming consciousness through creating, not through violence.

In a way, I think all the open minded people, free-thinkers, shamans and the like, could be the 'imaginal cells' of the human race.

Not sure if the science is accurate, but the metaphor was dazzling. well done.

Another article, with a slightly different explanation:
http://people.tribe.net/jellyhashed/...6-c5e595363ba1
Within the caterpillar, from its inception, is the butterfly. The caterpillar does not make a butterfly out of itself so much as it finds the butterfly hiding within itself, and responds in extraordinary ways when it does.
In every caterpillar are special cellular structures called imaginal discs because they hold the image of the entire butterfly on them the whole butterfly in each cell on every imaginal disc. A good analogy is to a sticker; imagine lots of identical butterflies stuck onto the cells of the caterpillar.

When the caterpillar begins its remarkable process of metamorphosis, wrapped inside its chrysalis, fantastic chemical changes begin that activate the imaginal discs and initiate the disintegration of the caterpillar. The imaginal discs begin to move around, seeking each other, for the butterfly can only happen if the imaginal discs are joined as one. It is perhaps important to repeat, given our mechanical habit of mind, that it is not parts of the butterfly that are linking up, but many wholes.

But the caterpillar resists its disintegration and tries to hold on to its chemical integrity by waging chemical warfare against the imaginal discs. It creates a toxic sludge that can kill the imaginal discs of the butterfly if they are caught swimming solo in this deadly chemical stew. But the toxic sludge is not effective against the imaginal discs that are linked together; something in the linking gives them immunity.

This war costs the caterpillar its own life, for the toxic sludge is also poison to its cellular structure. And how could it not be, since its cellular structure is the butterfly within it and the caterpillar both? But the battle is an intense one, as solo imaginal discs and caterpillar are consumed by toxic sludge, while within the same chemical poison other imaginal discs risk death to link with each other to survive their own metamorphosis.
Eventually, the toxic sludge that the caterpillar generated to destroy the butterfly it in essence always has been, destroys itself. The linked imaginal discs begin to consume the toxic sludge, which is no longer fatal now that they have reached a critical linked mass, and the chemistry makes its shift in favor of the butterfly.

The butterfly then emerges, fully formed, beautiful, and does what the caterpillar, perhaps, was always dreaming it could do, fly. And in becoming a butterfly, it does.
I'm going to do a bit more research on the scientific aspect of this, and see how close it falls to these articles, since none of them seem to have sources...
