I was on campus the other day and I was talking with this gay dude who was finishing his script for a playwright class. One of the professors friends was in class that day heard the script and asked if he minded if he made it into a short film for festivals. He asked me to read it and I thought it was really good, so he asked if I wanted to audition for a perticular roll, one which he said he's been having trouble casting. I told him to let me think about it considering I have never acted, I have been involved in two films before, but both times it was as a PA (production assistant.) There is one scene that requires the character he wanted me to audition for 'lightly kissing" another male character. I had no problem with this considering I have no attratcion to members of my sex and in my mind it would be like kissing a girl I was really unattracted to, which I have done due to truth or dare when I was younger. It didn't seem like a big deal to me, considering it is in the form of art, and I do not agree with censorship in anyway. Now my when my g/f read the script she freaked out so I told her I wouldn't do it, but I still think she is over reacting a little bit. Granted this is for a student film that will likely never even make it to a film festival and will simply go into reels for future projects... I'm just wondering what other views are on a m/m kiss on film.
