No of course it doesn't matter to me either, but it should be important to know if you a gay man looking for another gay man or a girl looking for a girl. It would be embarassing kind of to not know. Knowledge is knowledge unless you're going to start hate crimes against gays then thats a problem.
Doesn't hurt to know. I like to know actually.
