Isn't Christmas about spending money on consumer goods? isn't that like every other holiday now.
There is Christmas alternatives not religious ones but anti-consumerism ones. Adbusters puts on a buy nothing charismas inwhich you get everyone who was going to buy you a gift to donate 5$ or something to a fund to help what ever you want.

I saw 5 flyers on campus today advertising church celebrations for halloween and nearly all of them considered them alternatives to normal celebration. Why? Do all these churches really believe halloween to be such an evil celebration? They need to take what ever stick is lodged up their ass and let people have some fun once in a while. Rating: 5
