Buying weed from a friend?

So I get a lot of weed from my good friend. Most of it is home grown but the quality is all over the place. I find it kinda hard to deal with him sometimes though. This was the first guy I really started smoking a lot with, and that’s cool, but it does kinda give him this “I’ll always know more about weed than you and anything I say about weed you better take as fact” style attitude.

Last time I got a sack from him it was in trade for an item that we came to agree on at $250. He was supposed to give me some money and some weed for them but he needed money and wanted to just give me weed so I said okay. Now from his perspective he is like “well an eighth is $50-$65 so $250 is like 4 eighths” while I’m thinking like “I get ounces for $270 so for $250 I want like 1gram less than an ounce”. Obviously there is a lot of difference between those interpretations. But who the hell talks in terms of quantity at eighth prices? I told him it was kinda leafy and shit and he threw in a few extra grams

So I get it home and started smoking it. There was a bunch of shit I noticed that was kinda strange. First I kept finding dead little bugs in the nugs which is kinda fucking disgusting just thinking if I missed one and smoked it that would be really gay. The shit was also really leafy and had lots of stems. I took an eighth and picked out all the leaves and stems and what I had left was half an eighth of really good nug but wtf that’s like 50% reduction to get to that point not counting the few joints I could roll with the leaves or whatever. Also this shit was grown outdoors and has like dust on it or some shit. This stuff makes me cough way more than most stuff. Finally there was a nug with a fat glob of mold on it and when I looked closer I could see where he had trimmed mold off a few other nugs, but shit do I really want to smoke a nug that had mold on it even if the mold got cut off?

So this last weekend I was at a party and I had some weed left from my friend. Another friend was also there that also sells dank and we were smoking together outside. We were talking about the differences in weed and he basically told me that I’m not really getting that good deals from my good friend and that the weed wasn’t that good. The stuff he brought knocked me on my ass so I’m inclined to believe him on that. So I was ready to work out a deal right there on the spot when my first friend who I got the moldy stuff from hears and is clearly kinda insulted. He couldn’t say anything about it because the guy with the better weed was obviously right. But then I was giving him a ride home and hes trying to say that the other guy with the better weed really didn’t know what he was talking about, etc and also kinda gave me the impression that he would be very butthurt if I start buying from this other guy.

So I don’t know, I kinda want to buy from this other guy since his shit is really good and he is IMO slight less likely to try to rip me off. Like I can’t ever imagine the guy with the good bud selling me moldy weed. I’m kinda thinking though since I have this other hook now I should just go to my first friend and be like “look I’ll keep buying weed from you but I don’t want any stems, I don’t want any leaves, I don’t want any bugs, and I don’t want any mold”. I don’t want to come off as an asshole but before this weekend I was kinda in a state of blissful ignorance about the quality of my weed and I kinda have the gut feeling that maybe it’s because my friend was taking advantage of me.

Tell your friend that if his weed can not meet the quality standards that this other guys weed CAN meet. then you got some problems. and there's nothing wrong with having some problems. because in the end, you're going to get stoned. and not off bugjuice, or mold either. PURE NUG.

yeah dude if hes growing dodgy homegrown then he shouldnt be charging you full price anyway. If the other guy has better weed at a better price then buy from him. Its as easy as that/

But, hes your friend. And being your friend, you guys should be able to find a reasonable agreement between both of you. Go talk to him and get shit straight.

Thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate it. Iâ??ve smoked weed for a long time but only regularly where Iâ??m actually buying big sacks and stuff for a few years. As I get to know more people and try different things sometimes it kinda begins to paint a bigger picture of things.

Some things seem like they are just a matter of perspective also. I mean when I go to where my friend (both of the friends actually) live itâ??s like a 2 hour drive. The weed where I live is like $400/ounce and my friend knows that. So when he sells me an ounce for $270 he sells it like some huge bargain but around that area it seems like 270 is full price for dank ass bud. But itâ??s still better than paying $400.

I guess Iâ??ll follow your guys advice and just buy the better weed and my friend will either have to step up and match the price/quality or Iâ??ll just keep smoking the better stuff

if ur saving $130 an ounce and its better bud then its worth it....try buying in bulk so u dont have to drive dirty so much...and if u can ask if he'll meet u half way and ull throw in a couple bucks for the trouble...shit if ur getting a good enough deal...id start selling
