It seems to me that the Colorado thing works more like this, the Denver law differs from State law, so they still prosecute, but if the statewide law is passed, then people won't be prosecuted by any state law enforcement, so it will be better. The feds can still go after people, but they'll only go after large operations, not individuals for posession. Most state marijuana laws are a lot less severe than the federal laws, and in that case the state will not enforce the federal laws. I'm extremely interested in these initiatives, and will be eagerly awaiting the results. There probably isn't much evident enthusiasm because people are very unsure if these intiatives will pass, but if they do pass then they'll all of a sudden be a very big deal, especially the Nevada initiative.
