Nevada and Colorado ammendments
Ive been reading about these two states making the ballot for a month or so and Im really excited. I wanted to hear the opinion from someone who lived in that state. Whats your opinion and do you think that its a possibility for it to be legal to carry up to an ounce for someone over 21. Im crossing my fingers.

I don't live in those states, but I definitely find this very interesting, and am very suprised its not talked about here more often.
I always read the news on the homepage, and in Nevada (the more important of the two states, because marijuana will be regulated and sold legally in shops), it was being said that it is looking good to being passed, and if not, it will just be added to the ballot every year until it does lol!
But, the most important thing I think, it will still be illegal on a Federal level, and will they allow this?

well i am from colorado, and pot is already legal in denver, but the problem with that law, and all like this, is that state and federal law overrides city or county law, so even if they pass, people are still persecuted in the same way, but at least it is a step in the right direction!

Does anyone have anything else to say? I made a thread like this last month, and got little to no feedback. Isn't this what we all want? Maybe not?

No, but technically you could, cuz its still illegal on a Federal level no matter what. Like, you can smoke medical marijuana in some states, but there are still occasional 'busts' at dispensaries. The one in Colorado...you can legally possess, but can't buy or distribute which is contradictory. The laws don't make too much sense, but are definitely not a step backwards.

It seems to me that the Colorado thing works more like this, the Denver law differs from State law, so they still prosecute, but if the statewide law is passed, then people won't be prosecuted by any state law enforcement, so it will be better. The feds can still go after people, but they'll only go after large operations, not individuals for posession. Most state marijuana laws are a lot less severe than the federal laws, and in that case the state will not enforce the federal laws. I'm extremely interested in these initiatives, and will be eagerly awaiting the results. There probably isn't much evident enthusiasm because people are very unsure if these intiatives will pass, but if they do pass then they'll all of a sudden be a very big deal, especially the Nevada initiative.
