    8 sprouts under 150w hps?

I dont really want to go out and buy a bunch more cfl's, so I was going to transplant them to bigger pots on Sunday then place them under a 150w hps but have the light about 20" or less above the sprouts. I am using BC's starter kit and some superthrive which I will add to the water when I transplant. Soil pH is 5.8-6.2. Its alittle orangish on the top so I plan on having a higher pH when I water.

It depends on how long you want to veg them for and how much ou expect to get from them on weather or not it can really work. I would try to get that light alot lower, or they are going to strech, no two ways about it. I keep a 175 MH about 8 in from the babes, any further and I notice a difference, it is like they are praising the all mighty with raised armes.

Thanks, I wasnt sure about the height of it, so I will have it lower than I thought. I have 400w hps as well which is for veg and flower. I was gonna start them off on a 150w hps. Thanks for your help and input.

How old are they? Sprouts, when you say that, exactly how young? Just keep an eye on them and they will tell you if it's too much.
You have a good idea with using the 150, some will say never to use a HPS because it is not the blue spectrum, but it may pleas you never the less, and if it is what you have then it is what you should use IMO.
