Looks were far less of a priority, and the truth is that looks can and do change over time. In the end you want to make sure you're left with someone who's funny and intelligent when you're old and gray and wrinkled.

Looks certainly can and do change, of course, over time. However, mutual physical attraction is very fundamental in every long-term successful relationship I've seen. Ideally, even as two people grow older and 'change' (physically) they will continue to find beauty in one another... I think after a while how you perceive your significant other (physically) evolves... But in the beginning I dont think simply a smart/compassionate/ect type is going to be enough.

I think in our puritanical based society we have this tendency to down play sex and how crucial it is in our lives... Some of us like to kid ourselves into believing sex is somehow a 'lesser' important attribute compared to 'intelligence', 'success', 'personality', ect. I think such thinking is flawed I never understood why some adults have such a conscious (or subconscious) aversion to placing attraction/sex high on their list of important qualities... I mean, seriously, who are we really fooling? :stoned:

My ideal would be someone who has a high libido, open-minded, kind, loving, funny, willing to try new things (in bed), sexy, intelligent, a little cocky is okay too, mature but likes to goof around and is playful, strong (mentally and physically), and loyal. OH and HONEST is up there too. Did I mention high sex drive?

He was good looking tall shaggy hair ... just my type ... listened to good music... smoked just as much herb as me ... hada job... but he wasn't the type u can stay with for longer then a month or so ... oh well i guess a guy who can be commited and easy to talk to and an understanding guy (With all of the qualities listed above) would make my ideal man
