race ... so what if im a cracker!!!

I hate people who say they are color blind. We're all a little racist
NextLineIsMine Reviewed by NextLineIsMine on . race ... so what if im a cracker!!! i think that people are too fixated on race. i view people only as people, not as mexican, chinese, black, white, salvadorean, whatever. people are people. i think when we classify ourselves as a race, we our only segregating ourselves even more than we already are, and isnt that what everyone is complaining about? we all preach equality so why dont we view each other as equal? i dont find it nescessary to say im white, shes black. like i said we're all people. I am not you by virtue of my genetic inheritance and vice versa (you are not me)... IMO people who choose to deny the existence of variety within the gene-pool must be ashamed of who they were or what they have become. People should be proud of something, or many things. Why not be proud that we have differences and that we aren't all the same. Who wants to be a clone? I dun't want a twin and I dun't wanna be viewed in the light of another who claims to be my equal. Failing to acknowledge another 'race's' existence is an inequality in itself, especially in a world where there are far too many cowboys and cowboy wanna bes and not enough indians.
    Well said....I agree 150%!

Being white is hard, its not "PC" to have pride for your race. Always get blamed for shit. Most were raised to tip-toe around certain subjects that other races can discuss freely. People will always gravitate and imitate their own race "role models". Its actually uncool to be white now, WTF? White kids on a more and more consistent basis try to identify with other races and imitate the way they think they should act.

This is where our culture is all fucked up, people seem to think entertainers are some sort of superhuman role model. They end up assimilating some very poor qualities so they can "fit it"....if your poor it isn't your fault its the man keeping you down, crime is "cool"...there are a ton others. If you set your mind to something in time you will achieve, be your own person. Don't conform to what society says you should be.

Race does not separate people so much as culture and religion which are basically loyalties to old ideas. It is human nature to seek an identity and to make generalizations like stereotyping and it takes a lot of education in an enviroment that encourages free thinking to overcome natural and ritual predispositions and then greed and politics as well.
The road to understanding and tolerance is long and trecherous one for humanity. It has only taken but a few steps in its journey to enlightenment. We can only hope that we don't engineer our own demise before we can see our way to world peace.

It's not a good thing or a bad thing, it's just how it works.

I had to learn that for a psychology paper. I'm not nearly that intelligent.
I disagree. I come from a white upper-middle/lower-upper class background. My wife was born and raised in a poor village in China. Our "cultures" couldn't be more different. Yet we have a wonderful marriage that's going on 10 years. Why? Because we've had the intelligence to prevent our cultures from "colliding". Instead we've allowed the two to mesh together to form our own little culture. We may be having spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, but chances are we'll be eating them with chopsticks.

I see mixing cultures to be similar to stirring up the gene pool. There's good points and bad points to all cultures. Mix them together and keep the good points of each, throw out the bad points. If you don't have some exposure to other cultures the bad points will just contine on and on. Pretty soon the culture will end up like some inbred Hillbilly who'se family tree has more loops than branches.

I have problems with people from other backgrounds and cultures. It just so happens they are usually from a different race (yes I'm white). I don't like the way they act, dress, talk, walk and the list goes on. It doesn't apply to all of them but a great number of them I don't like for these various reasons. Not because they are a different color but because they are so different than me in all aspects of life. I cannot and do not want to except them as friends or have anything to do with them for I feel they are and would be a threat to my family and my values.

It's sad to see such ignorance in this day and age.
