Just cleaned my glass pipe...
Hey guys,
I just got done cleaning my glass pipe. I had to use Nail Polish Remover and salt instead of Rubbing alcohol and salt. After a few tries I got it fully clean, well at least as clean as it is going to get. The inside and outside looks likes it's new, except there is cloudy patches on the inside where the resin was. I rinsed it after with just warm salt water, then multiple times with just warm water. I rinsed it very good.
There is still a very slight smell to it which kind of smells like a mix of smells that were on the pipe. The cloudy patches bother me a bit. I really don't want to be inhaling any harmful fumes that could be from when the nail polish remover was there.
Are these cloudy patches normal after cleaning? Is there any way I could make sure it is perfectly clean and safe to use?
Thanks guys,

that can't be healthy man. do the following:
- get 99% rubbing alcohol and wash it out as best as you can. take salt and place it inside the pipe, fill it up with alcohol and shake it up to clean the inside
- rinse it very well
-boil it for a few minutes, but REMEMNER: do NOT subject it to any sudden temp changes or it WILL crack. (in other words, put it in a pot of room temp water, and heat it up to boiling point instead of just throwing it in boiling water. let it cool off back to room temp with the pipe inside)
- rinse well again, and go light a bowl
i know its a bit overkill, but its better safe then sorry when dealing with your lungs. also, ive tried cleaning stuff with nail polish remover and not only does it melt plastic leaving it foggy and greasy, but it always residue behind on metals, etc.
good luck, and happy toking!

i use stuff called goof-off that's a solvent, much like lighter fluid. i soak a bristle pipe cleaner in it and the jam it everywhere. plus you can put like 6 pipe cleaners together and shove em all in and everywehre to get it all. but really just put some lighter fluid in the pipe and cover the bowl, carb, and mouthpiece and shake well. then run water into the mouthpiece for like 10 minutes to get all the chemicals out then smoke
