Much needed help for a first timer..
I am flowering my bag seed plants (5 of them) and I have at least one male. It's hard for me to differentiate male and female. So the males raised calyxes and females don't. Is this true in all circumstances?
Anyone know of a good link to find better pictures to look at. All i hvae is drawings in my bible.
also, are the leaves on the male of use? Can I strain any THC to make hash??

thanks. Yeah, I was just making sure that one plant, which turned out to be male, wasn't a hermie. it just took another day to weed the dudes out. Last night I was down to three plants left, one was a definite female. Today I wake up to two more girls, and I couldn't be happier. here are some pictures of the three of them..they were just sprayed down.

when you are using a large hot lite, like the one you have to flower with, and you spray your plants you get them HOT you can overheat your plants this way, it dosent cool them down to spray them with the water the water is only going to get hot and burn your plants....

Lookin good there budnums!
An easy way to be sure is that male 'balls' grow on little tiny stalks that you can see the 2nd or 3rd day after the balls first appear, and tend to grow in clusters.
Female balls (the true calyxes you are looking for) tend to grow singly at first, and don't have little stalks, they just sit in the node.

thanks for the advice bong0. I won't spray them. I wasn't quite sure if it was for better or for worse, so that clears that up. Thanks stinky. Definately females the 3 left. So I'm about to put them under 300w hps probably tomorrow or sunday.
So, I want something like 10-20-10 for flowering? Or along those lines. I need guidance on ferts for flowering. Please help. I am a new flowerer, and I don't; want to fuck it up!!
I will try to get close-up shots of the plants tomorrow. also, my leaves were dying from the bottom up, but it seems to have stopped. Is this usually due to lack of Nitrogen. That'ts waht I read.
Feel free to answer all, some, or none of the questions.
Thanks!

Very nice looking plants, there budnums. I won't go through the whole male/female thing cuz you seem to have gotten your answer. I have a couple really good pics of some male (and female, at that) early flowers in the flowering stage...just in case you wanna take a gander.

Sorry, dunno about the ferts.
Mmmm, pancakes. Delicious.

Hey frog! THanks man. I'm going to put up new pics of my 3 ladies when they wake up in an hour and a half. I really want to fert today, with something for flowering. Do you know where to find a good flowering fert. Lowes and Home Depot seem to suck ass and they are the only stores I know about. It seems I need to find a better garden store, but I am having trouble finding a good one. Let me know if you know of a good brand or place to get the right thing.
I'd love to take a gander, btw. What's that link?
As a first time flowerer, I was so worried about hermies. I guess they can turn hermie at anytime though. hmmm.
