$1700 seems a little too steep for me

Damn, you guys are crazy. There is a shop near me that has thick glass bongs with all your favorite colors and designs for $30-$50 bucks. I don't use bongs really, but I would never pay hundreds of dollars for one.

I do think Roors are great pieces of art too, the color/decoration on them is always very subtle and that's what makes them look so great IMO. Plus, with clear glass, you get to see the smoke fill up the bong, which is awesome.

Yeah dude I hear Roors are awesome, but think about it. Is a Roor bong going to get you higher than an equally well made bong that doesn't have the word "ROOR" on it? You'd never, ever catch me spending $1700 on a bong. That thing is kinda plain looking.

When I first read the thread topic I thought the thread creator was considering whether or not to buy a half pound of weed, not a bong.

I'd rather spend $0.99 on a pack of zig zags. You rip a rolling paper, oh well, that's like 3 cents out the window. You accidentally tip that $1700 bong over, and you've got problems.

I am still new to all of this. Is the main benefit of a bong, pulling the smoke through water? I guess to soften it up a bit.

I have read that the water removes more THC than tar.

I was looking in to vaporizers thinking they were a little pricey. I had no idea a bong could set you back that much.

    This is something new. http://pocketvape.net

Roors are generally much more affordable than that. I agree they are overpriced, but most of cost of this either comes from the brand Shiva, not Roor, and/or the possibility that they are customs and not very many of them made. It's no doubt a ridiculous price, but look at the price of non-custom Roor bongs and see the price difference.

My response to this in another thread:

Due to stems/seeds/leaves having a higher tar content than buds do, it's possible that the studies that have shown that water filters out more THC than tars is because those were used instead/in combination with the buds. This is only a guess, but if that's true then smoking cannabis correctly (buds only) would most likely prove the opposite, and is probably the reason why water pipes are shown to be effective. Regardless, I get fucking blazed off of bongs... much moreso than pipes, meaning I will continue using water filtration as much as possible.

Bongs have many benefits; smoother hits, filtration, cooling, a huge fucking tube that allows you to take massive bong rips, sliders...

    One of the worse ideas....ever.
More people die yearly from vending machines falling on them than smoking pot. Can we please just do the right thing.....

    and make vending machines illegal:jointsmile:

Wow, for a $1700 bong, it sure it fuckin ugly. I think it is.

I had a hard enough time spending $70 a bong, let alone $1700, and it hits just fine. A bong is a bong, either way, it will get you stoned.

I myself find roors rather plain as well. I could care less what kind of spaced aged, hitting diffuser glass it's made from. I like color and character, those are so dull and whoop-ee.

i guess its an ego thing. like the wigger kids and hats to locations they never been to. or kids dressing goth because they like my chemical romance.

but man, its a roor. lol.
    ^ego thing. see?

a 50-100$ local bong is just as good. and its currently what I use.

$300 is a lot of dough for a bong that looks so plain.
